Samsung launches One UI 8.5 Beta for Galaxy A36 rather than Galaxy A56

Galaxy A36 joins the One UI 8.5 Beta Program

Although the One UI 8.5 beta might more logically have been expected for the Galaxy A56, Samsung is continuing to broaden its One UI 8.5 beta-testing programme. Following the rollout for the Galaxy S24, S24 FE, S25 FE, Z Flip 6, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6 and Z Fold 7, the company has made the beta available to several additional devices.

From today, the One UI 8.5 Beta Program is available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy A36. This marks the first time that a Galaxy A-series smartphone has been included in the One UI 8.5 beta programme.

One UI 8.5 Beta availability by region

Samsung has allocated access by region as follows:

• Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra and S23 FE - India, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States;
• Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 - South Korea and the United States;
• Galaxy A36 - India only.

More devices planned for the beta programme

The company has also said that it intends to add even more devices to the beta programme in the future.
