Building materials, paints, furniture, cleaning products and electronic devices constantly release substances into the air indoors. You do not always notice a smell straight away, but you may feel the effects as tiredness, headaches or irritated airways. A particular group of houseplants can help at exactly this point: they can trap pollutants, boost humidity - and are even said to soften unwanted “vibrations” around a home office setup.
Why a single plant can make such a difference indoors
Indoor air can be more heavily polluted than the air beside a busy city road. Paints, varnishes, chipboard furniture and adhesives can emit benzene, formaldehyde and other solvents.
