Revolut posts record 2025 results and targets global expansion

Ten years after its launch, Revolut is smashing every record and has no intention of slowing down. The British neobank has just released remarkable 2025 results, while its ambitions for the next stage are every bit as striking.

The figures speak for themselves. Revolut generated a profit of $2.3 billion in 2025, up 57% on the previous year. Revenue rose by 46% to reach $6 billion, compared with $4 billion in 2024. This marks the neobank’s fifth consecutive profitable year. It now serves 68.3 million customers worldwide, including 16 million people added over the past year alone.

This performance is driven by a deliberately diversified model. Subscription revenue climbed 67%, card payments increased by 45%, and its loan book more than doubled. In Europe, its reach is now remarkable: one in five working-age adults uses Revolut. Co-founder and chief executive Nik Storonsky is clearly optimistic about what comes next:

“2025 was another pivotal year. We have built a diversified and resilient business, profitable at scale, that lays the foundations for our next phase of growth. By becoming a truly global bank, we are proving that our technology model continues to support rapid expansion and record profitability. Ten years after we started, we have only glimpsed what is possible.”

Revolut sets its sights on global expansion

Could 2026 be the turning point for the fintech company? In March, it officially secured its UK banking licence after several years of waiting. This represents a major shift: its 13 million UK customers will now be able to access genuine banking products, including credit cards, personal loans and overdrafts. Becoming a fully fledged bank radically changes its position against traditional institutions.

A US banking licence application and London investment

At the same time, Revolut submitted an application for a national banking licence in the United States, paving the way for an assault on one of the world’s most sought-after financial markets. The company has also announced a $13 billion investment over five years to speed up its international rollout, including the creation of 1,000 jobs at its new global headquarters in London.

Revolut targets 100 million customers worldwide

In France, Revolut is also continuing discussions with regulators to obtain a banking licence, a crucial step towards expanding the scope of its activities further. The neobank currently claims 7 million customers in France and is targeting 10 million by 2027. Its overall goal is 100 million customers worldwide by mid-2027. Nothing less.
