Insider Yogesh Brar has shared a new post on X claiming that OnePlus is winding down its operations in certain markets.

According to Brar, the brand will cease operating in markets including the United States and Europe, with the UK also affected. He added that OnePlus will retain its current position in China, while its strategy in India will centre on budget and mid-range devices.

This would be a complete departure from the company’s original approach of offering flagship phones at aggressively low prices. That strategy is why the first OnePlus handsets became known as “flagship killers”.

Rumours that OnePlus could shut down have circulated over recent months. One report published in January was denied by OnePlus chief executive Robin Liu, who said that OnePlus India would continue operating as normal.
